A "nova" is a star that suddenly increases in brilliance, and the '69 Chevy Nova shone brightly in the muscle car universe. The '69 Chevy Nova SS featured a long and wide body, along with the semi-fastback roofline. It also boasted simulated air intakes on the hood, simulated front fender louvers and exclusive "SS" badging. Base power was provided by a 350 cid. 300 hp. mill, which made the car an excellent "sleeper" since the exterior was devoid of many of the styling elements prevalent on many a lesser "poser."
