Chevrolet introduced its two-door Nomad wagon in 1955, and while a "nomad" is defined as "a member of a people who have no fixed residence but move from place to place," more than 6,100 car-buyers gave the '55 Nomad a home. They may also have found that its spacious cargo area was the ideal size for hauling the king-size and family-size bottles of Coke that were introduced.
