Coca-Cola advertisements in 1961 talked about "Coke and food - refreshing new feeling." What was also new for the year was a Ford's totally redesigned Thunderbird. It was longer, lower, wider and heavier than the previous year's model, and came standard with Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, power steering and brakes, and the new 390 cid. V-8 engine. The 'Bird was the word, but Coke was the drink!
