Oldsmobile introduced its "88" series in 1949, and the 88 name would endure in the Oldsmobile line until the late 1990's. A new one-piece windshield was introduced for the year, and a Holiday hardtop couple was also added to the line in 1950. Just as "super" was the success enjoyed by Coca-Cola, and while advertisements were telling folks to "Help yourself to refreshment," the numbers of people around the world who were doing just that continued to grow.
