The “Ghost of General Lee” was a Season 2 episode that saw a pair of pool hustlers steal the General while the Duke boys were skinny-dipping. Sheriff Rosco chased the car until it crashed into the lake, and when no bodies were found everyone believed that Bo and Luke had been killed. The boys, very much alive, attend their own wake and come up with a ghostly plan to scare Boss Hogg.
