By placing a high performance 400 cubic inch engine into a mid-to-light weight body the 1969 GTO once again prowled the streets. Based on the Tempest LeMans, the GTO had stiffer springs and shocks and a larger front ainti-roll bar. For 1969 The GTO continued to be the flagship of Pontiacs performance fleet.
