Chevrolet introduced its pony car model with the 1967 Camaro, and buyers enjoyed the car’s “building block” system of options, which allowed them to come up with unique and distinctive vehicles. When ordered with either of the SS packages, the Camaro sported an SS grille, emblems on the fender and gas cap, a special striped hood and simulated intake grids.
