Like the rest of the manufacturers, Buick began feeling the pinch of government regulations and the GM decree that all its cars run on low-lead gasoline, compression ratios and power rating began to drop. The cars showed off blackout grilles and functional dual hood scoops, but the 350 engine dropped to 260 hp, with the 455 and 455 Stage 1 both also lost horsepower. The muscle car era may have been waning, but the GS assured it may be gone, but never forgotten. This model bears a cool coat of Nocturne Blue Poly.
