The 1965 VW Beetle had a distinctly different appearance from it predecessors. With both the windshield and the side windows being significantly increased in size, the openness of the cabin gave the driver a feeling of being in a much larger car. In addition the rear engine cover could now be opened with the push of a button. The interior also received up-grades, such as contoured back rests and increased rear passenger leg room. All-in all the little bug seemed to be growing-up.
